Rajya Sabha Electoral Process Timeline 2024

Elections to 56 Rajya Sabha Seats On Feb 27: Nominations for the elections will be accepted from February 8 to February 15. The deadline for the withdrawal of candidature is February 20. Polling and counting of votes are scheduled for February 27.

Retiring MPs and State Representation

On April 2, 2024, ten Rajya Sabha MPs from Uttar Pradesh, six each from Maharashtra and Bihar, five each from Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, four each from Gujarat and Karnataka, three each from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and one each from Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will retire. Additionally, on April 3, 2024, three Upper House members each from Odisha and Rajasthan will retire.
