Samruddhi Mahamarg Current Status: 25 KM Stretch Between Bharvir to Igatpuri Set to Open by February!

Samruddhi Mahamarg Current Status

Samruddhi Mahamarg Current Status: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) Joint Managing Director (JMD), Kailash Jadhav, has provided an update on the status of the Samruddhi Mahamarg project. According to reports, a 25-kilometer stretch from Bharvir to Igatpuri Town is nearing completion, with plans to open it to traffic by February. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the development of the 701-kilometer corridor connecting Nagpur to Mumbai.

Samruddhi Mahamarg Completion of Critical Section

Jadhav highlighted that the only pending work on this specific 25-kilometer stretch is the girder laying of the Vehicular Over the Bridge (VOB). He expressed confidence, stating, “All other major works have been completed on this 25-km stretch. We are aiming at opening it to traffic by February.”

Key Features of the 25 KM Section Between Bharvir to Igatpuri

The 25-kilometer stretch includes various features such as flyovers, bridges, VOB (Vertical Shaft Brick), twin tunnels measuring 300 meters each, and an intersection with the old Mumbai Nashik Highway. The complexity of this section lies in its intricate design, requiring careful execution, especially during the construction of the VOB, which presented challenges due to continuous traffic flow on the six-lane road beneath the bridge.

Samruddhi Mahamarg Distance

The Samruddhi Mahamarg, a 701-kilometer corridor, aims to connect Nagpur to Mumbai, significantly reducing travel time. Currently, the 600-kilometer expressway section from Nagpur to Bharvir in Igatpuri is partially operational.
