CRCS-Sahara Refund Begins:

After launching the CRCS Sahara portal a few weeks ago, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah initiated the refund to depositors on August 4. The first installment of Rs. 10,000 was released to 112 investors in initial phase.

On March 29, the government said money would be returned to 10 crore investors within nine months.

What CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal??

The Co-operative Ministry launched CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal on 18th July 2023. This is online platform designed by Central Government to initiate refund process of depositors of four Sahara Group of Co-operative Societies. The easy to apply portal will help crores of depositors of Sahara Group to get their money back. On 29th March 2023, Supreme Court has directed to transfer of Rs 5,000 crore from the Sahara-SEBI refund account to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS).

Eligibility:

The genuine and legitimate Depositors of following four Sahara Societies are eligible for refund through the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal:

  1. Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.
  2. Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow.
  3. Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Bhopal.
  4. Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Hyderabad.

For filing a claim request, the Depositors must have made deposits & have outstanding dues receivable before the following dates,:

22nd March 2022 for following three societies:

  1. Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.
  2. Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow.
  3. Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Bhopal.

29th March 2023 for following society:

  1. Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Hyderabad.

Registration Process:

For registration, It is mandatory for a depositor to have Adhaar number and mobile number linked with Adhaar to get OTP.

  1. Visit the Home Page of CRCS Sahara Refund Portal and click on “Depositor Registration.”
  2. Fill in the details like last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Card, and mobile number linked with Aadhaar, on the Registration Page accurately.
  3. Click on “Get OTP” and enter the OTP received.
  4. Click “Verify OTP” to complete the mandatory registration process.

Login Procedure:

  1. Visit the Home Page of CRCS Sahara Refund Portal and click on” Depositor Login”.
  2. Fill in the details like last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Card, and mobile number linked with Aadhaar, on the Depositor Login Page accurately.
  3. Click on “Get OTP” and enter the OTP received.
  4. Click “Verify OTP” to login.

Necessary Documents required for filling the Claim form:

Before filling application form, depositor to ensure following documents:

  1. Membership number of account
  2. Deposit Account number
  3. Aadhaar linked Mobile no. (Mandatory requirement)
  4. Deposit certificates/ Passbook
  5. PAN card (if claim amount is Rs. 50,000/- and above) (Mandatory requirement)

 

Filling of Claim form:

The depositor need to Login on the refund portal and submit all claims simultaneously and upload the relevant documents to support claim and share proof of invested amount.

Depositor need to submit single claim form for all deposits across all Sahara societies where Depositor has outstanding dues receivable by adding all the claim details, one by one.

Note: Once the Claim Form is submitted, there is no provision for adding further claims. So before submitting the form, ensure that all details are entered properly.

Documents Specifications:

Size of the documents to be uploaded: Max. size of 200KB for Deposit Certificate/Passbook; 2 MB for Completed pre-filled and executed Claim Application Form and 50 KB for PAN Card.

File Format of the documents to be uploaded: PDF/JPEG/PNG/JPEG2

Submitting the Claim form:

After verifying the claimed data properly, download and print the Claim Form. Paste recent photograph and duly sign across the photo as well as the Form.

Finally scan, upload and submit the Claim Form. (Max. size should not exceed 2 MB)

An acknowledgement number will be displayed on the Portal screen and a SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number of the Depositor for confirmation. It means that your application is submitted successfully.

Note: Only online application is valid for submitting claims of CRCS-Sahara Refund.

Online application for refund is Free of Cost.

Verification of documents and processing the claim:

After successful submission of the claim, respective Sahara society will verify the documents and claim form in next 30 days. After verification, CRCS will process the claim in the next 15 days i.e. 45 days required for initiating refund after form submission.

Important Instructions for successful submission of the claim form:

  1. Adhaar linked mobile number is mandatory for the process, if you do not have then visit nearest Adhaar enrolment center to get mobile number linked.
  2. Pan Card is mandatory for claims above Rs. 50,000/-
  3. Cross check all details before submission of the form, once submitted no editing / adding is allowed.
  4. Depositor need to submit single claim form for all deposits across all Sahara societies. There is option for adding all deposits one by one in the form.
  5. If you are not getting Adhaar OTP, that might be due to network issue or ‘DND’ (Do Not Disturb) activated on your number or temporary technical glitch in the portal. Try refreshing portal, or try after some time.
  6. No physical claim form is allowed, only online applications will be entertained.
  7. Depositor will get SMS on mobile number when claim request is approved.
  8. Depositor can call Sahara office for claim related queries only after 45 days of form submission.

  10. Refund will be credited only in the Adhaar linked bank account.
  11. Don’t trust rumours. The amount 10,000 Rs. credited is first installment and remaining amount will be credited in phase wise manner.
