Introduction
The match schedule of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has been released. There are 10 teams competing with each other for CWC 2023, of which 8 qualified directly through cricket world cup super league and remaining two selected from the qualifiers held at Zimbabwe. India will be hosting CWC 2023 at 10 venues.
The World Cup will kick start from 5th October, and Final will be on 19th November at the same venue of 2019 Final held at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad where England beat New Zealand and steal the cup for the first time in ODI World Cup history. The matches will be played for the span of 46 days for this mega event.
Wankhede stadium, Mumbai and Eden Gardens, Kolkata will be hosting two semi finals. Final will be played at the repeated venue of 2019 CWC final at Narendra Modi stadium, Ahmedabad.
Teams qualified for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023
- New Zealand, England, India (Host), Bangladesh, Pakistan, Australia, Afghanistan, South Africa these 8 teams have qualified directly.
- CWC qualifier held at Zimbabwe between 18th June to 9th July 2023.
10 teams competed in these qualifier encounters for two spots.
Sri Lanka & Netherland made through and qualified for CWC 2023.
Unfortunately for West Indies, it did not qualify and will miss this world cup.
India in ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023
Host India will begin its campaign from Sunday 8th October, with its first clash against five time world cup winner Australia at MA Chidambaram stadium, Chennai.
The most awaited encounter between India Vs. Pakistan is reschedule on Saturday 14th October, at Narendra Modi stadium, Ahmedabad. Prior to this match, the cricket lovers will enjoy clash between these traditional rivals in Asia Cup-2023 on 2nd September 2023. Previous encounter between two rivals was in last year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where in thrilling match India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets in Super 12 fixtures.
India will be playing total 9 matched in CWC 2023 in the league stage before qualifying for the Semi Finals.
Indian Squad
BCCI has yet to announce Indian squad for ICC CWC 2023. The fitness and performance of the players will be judged based on Asia Cup starting from 30th August 2023. The two top performing players Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul underwent surgeries this year, which is cause of concern for selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar ahead of Asia Cup 2023.

Registration is mandatory to get instant updates on all the latest news and ticketing information, announcements, prize draws, exclusive competitions and other offers.

Sale of tickets will be in seven phases starting from 25th August to 15th September. This is done to manage the demand of tickets. Phases are parted based on the Venue of the matches. Tickets for Semi Finals and Final can be purchased on last phase i.e. on 15th September.
