Maharashtra Rain Alert: Rain Alert in Maharashtra Till January 9
The Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of light rain at some places (Rain Alert) till January 9 in Maharashtra. In the next 3 days there is a chance of rain with thunder at isolated places in the state. Light rain and cloudy weather is likely at many places. According to the forecast of IMD, cloudy weather will be seen in the state today on January 7 and there is a chance of rain at isolated places in Pune, Kolhapur, Nashik, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar areas.
Dhule Nandurbar Heavy Rain Alert on January 8
On January 8, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Dhule and Nandurbar and the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain.
Effect of Southwesterly Winds
According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic wind area is forming over the southeast Arabian Sea and adjacent areas of Lakshadweep, extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level. A low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Arabian Sea. South Coast and Uttar Pradesh areas are witnessing the effect of south-westerly winds.
Rain forecast in India for Next 24 Hours
According to the Met department forecast, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep are likely to experience light to moderate rains with heavy rains in the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain is likely over Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh. The IMD has also predicted light rains in Karnataka and Western Himalayas.

Maharashtra Rain Alert: As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, light rains were forecast for various parts of Maharashtra including Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar in North Maharashtra on Saturday. Accordingly, the region witnessed the presence of rain on Saturday. Sporadic showers of rain are expected in this area today. An active low pressure area over the Southwest Arabian Sea and the formation of vapor clouds extending northward from North Konkan are affecting the weather.
Unseasonal Rain Crisis in Maharashtra state Again
Meanwhile, a Western Disturbance is currently active. A cold front has formed over the Bay of Bengal and is extending from Jammu to North Pakistan. This has created cyclonic-like conditions in the upper layer of the air over adjoining areas including Haryana. Due to this environment, a cloudy environment has been created in the state. However, farmers are worried as the state is again facing the crisis of unseasonal rains.
