Now, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) is poised to play a pivotal role in this transportation revolution by extending its services across the MTHL.

NMMT General Manager Yogesh Kaduskar announced plans to inaugurate four services on the MTHL route, specifically between Nerul and Mantralaya. As part of this initiative, bus number 115, currently operating between Kharkopar and World Trade Centre, will now be rerouted to connect Nerul and Mantralaya via the MTHL, also known as Atal Setu. The new service is expected to commence next week.

Kaduskar assured commuters that the fare for the 52-kilometer route would remain unchanged at Rs 90, emphasizing the NMMT’s commitment to affordability. However, the impact of toll rates on passenger fares is still under consideration, with no definitive decision made as yet.

NMMT: A Lifeline for Navi Mumbai and Beyond

With 567 buses operating across 74 routes, NMMT serves as a crucial lifeline for approximately 1.80 lakh passengers daily, facilitating travel not only within NMMC jurisdiction but also to surrounding cities like Thane, Mumbai, Kalyan, Dombivali, Uran, and Khopoli.

Enhanced Travel Benefits for Seniors By NMMT

NMMT has demonstrated its commitment to passenger welfare by extending travel benefits to senior citizens. Following in the footsteps of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), NMMT has lowered the age threshold for free travel to 65 years, allowing senior citizens in the NMMC area to travel free of charge upon providing proof of residence and age.

Passengers may still enjoy entertainment via earphones without causing disturbance to others.
