Mega Block

For decades, the suburban train network in Mumbai has been hailed as the lifeline of the city. It’s been the preferred mode of transportation for Mumbaikars. However, there’s a particular time when train travel is put on hold, from 1 am to 4 am. During this period, essential railway repair and maintenance work is carried out, including track repairs, signal updates, and other technical adjustments. But the standard timemframe isn’t always sufficient to complete these tasks.

To address this challenge, railway employees and officials have implemented a solution – ‘mega block on Sundays’. These mega blocks are vital for maintaining the local train network.

CENTRAL LINE Mega Block on Sunday 26th November

Central Line has announced Mega Block on Sunday 26th November for carrying out various engineering and maintenance works between Matunga to Thane Up and Dn Slow Lines.

Time: 11:05 AM to 3:35 PM

Dn slow line services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 10.14 am to 3.09 pm will be diverted o­n Dn fast line between Matunga and Thane stations and will halt at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Thane stations. Further will be re-diverted o­n proper slow line at Thane station.

Up Slow line services leaving Kalyan from 10.25 am to 3.10 pm will be diverted o­n Up fast line between Thane and Matunga and will halt at Thane, Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion stations. Further will be re-diverted o­n proper Up slow line at Matunga.

On Dn slow line, the last Local before the block will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 9.53 am and First local after the block to leave CSMT will be at 3.18 pm.

On Up slow line, the last local before the block will leave Kalyan at 9.55 am and the First local after the block to leave Kalyan will be at 3.24 pm.

HARBOUR LINE Mega Block on Sunday 26th November

Harbour Line has announced Mega Block on Sunday 26th November between Panvel to Vashi Up and Dn harbour lines

Time: 11:05 AM to 04:05 PM

Up Harbour line services towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai leaving Panvel from 10.33 am to 3.49 pm and Dn Harbour line services to Panvel/Belapur leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 9.45 am to 3.12 pm will remain suspended.

On Dn Harbour line, the Last Local before the block will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 9.30 am and will arrive Panvel at 10.50 am and First local after the block to leave CSMT will be at 3.16 pm and will arrive Panvel at 4.36 pm.

On Up Harbour line, the last local for CSMT before the block will leave Panvel at 10.17 am and will arrive at CSMT at 11.36 am and the first local for CSMT after the block to leave  Panvel will be at 4.10 pm and will arrive Panvel at 5.30 pm.

Special train services during block period:

Special local trains will run o­n Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai – Vashi section during the block period.

These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused. Press Release..

TRANS-HARBOUR LINE

Up Trans-harbour line services towards Thane leaving Panvel from 11.02 am to 3.53 pm and Dn Trans-harbour line services towards Panvel leaving Thane from 10.01 am to 3.20 pm will remain suspended.

On Dn Trans-Harbour line, the last Local towards Panvel before the block will leave Thane at 9.39 am and will arrive Panvel at 10.31 am and First local after the block towards Panvel to leave Thane will be at 4.00 pm and will arrive Panvel at 16.52 pm.
On Up Trans-Harbour line, the last local towards Thane before the block will leave Panvel at 10.41 am and will arrive at Thane at 11.33 am and the first local towards Thane after the block to leave Panvel will be at 4.26 pm and will arrive Panvel at 5.20 pm.

Trans-harbour line services will be available between Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations during the block period.

WESTERN LINE Mega Block on Sunday 26th November

No Block during day time on 26.11.2023

Western Railway Night Block between Borivali and Bhayandar station

Western Railway has announced night Block between Borivali and Bhayandar station to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signaling and overhead equipment. A jumbo block of four hours will be taken on UP and Down Fast lines from 00:30 hrs to 04:30 hrs in the intervening night of Saturday & Sunday i.e. on 25th / 26th November 2023.
