Railway Mega block on Sunday 17 December: For decades, the suburban train network in Mumbai has been hailed as the lifeline of the city. It’s been the preferred mode of transportation for Mumbaikars. However, there’s a particular time when train travel is put on hold, from 1 am to 4 am. During this period, essential railway repair and maintenance work is carried out, including track repairs, signal updates, and other technical adjustments. But the standard timemframe isn’t always sufficient to complete these tasks.

To address this challenge, railway employees and officials have implemented a solution – ‘mega block on Sundays’. These mega blocks are vital for maintaining the local train network.

Mega Block On 17 December 2023

CENTRAL LINE Mega Block on Sunday 17 December

Railway Mega block on Sunday 17 December: Central Line has announced Mega Block on Sunday 17 December for carrying out various engineering and maintenance works between Thane to Kalyan Up and Dn Fast Lines.

Time: 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM

DOWN Fast / Semi-fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 09.57 am to 01.50 pm will be diverted o­n DOWN slow line between Thane and Kalyan stations halting at Kalva, Mumbra and Diva stations in addition to their respective halts and will arrive destination 10 minutes later than their schedule arrival.

UP Fast / Semi-fast services leaving Kalyan from 10.39 am to 02.58 pm will be diverted o­n UP slow line between Kalyan and Thane stations halting Diva, Mumbra and Kalva stations in addition to their respective halts and further re-diverted o­n UP fast line at Mulund. These services will arrive destination 10 minutes later than their schedule arrival.

DOWN Mail /Express trains leaving CSMT / Dadar will be diverted o­n 5^th line between Thane and Kalyan stations.

UP Mail /Express trains arriving CSMT / Dadar will be diverted o­n 6^th line between Kalyan and Thane / Vikhroli stations. Press Release..

HARBOUR LINE Mega Block on Sunday 17 December

There will be No Mega block o­n Harbour line between CSMT-Panvel & o­n Trans-harbour line between Thane-Panvel

TRANS-HARBOUR LINE

There will be No Mega block o­n Harbour line between CSMT-Panvel & o­n Trans-harbour line between Thane-Panvel.

URAN LINE

No Block

WESTERN LINE Mega Block on Sunday 17 December

Railway Mega block on Sunday 17 December: Western Line has announced jumbo Mega Block on Sunday 17 December of 5 hours for carrying out various engineering and maintenance works between Mahim to Santacruz Up and Dn Fast Lines.

Time: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

During this jumbo block, all trains on fast line will be diverted to slow track between Mahim and Santacruz / Andheri.

Night Block of 3 hour between Andheri and Vile Parle on 17/18.12.2023

Night block of 3 hours will be taken between Andheri and Vile Parle on all lines for construction of Gokhale Rail Over Bridge.

Time: 01:40 AM to 4:40 AM

During this night block, few trains are fully and some are partially cancelled. Passengers are requested to note above timing before travelling.

Extra Slow Local provided between Andheri – Churchgate, Departing Andheri 05:05 hrs, Arriving Churchgate 05:40 hrs.

Mega Block of 2 hour between Umroli and Palghar Station

However there is 2 hour block on Western Railway on 16th & 17th December, 2023 from 10.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs for De-launching of Steel girder for construction at Palghar Road Over Bridge. The block wiII be undertaken on UP & Down Main Line between Umroli – Palghar station of Virar- Dahanu Road Section, due to which few Western Railway trains will be cancelled, regulated & short terminated.
